About Saudi-Steps
Saudi-Steps is an independent practical guides website for residents, expats, and visitors in Saudi Arabia. We cover everything from Iqama renewal and driving licenses to banking, healthcare, and renting an apartment — written in plain English, with step-by-step instructions.
Why we built this
Navigating Saudi Arabia's government services is difficult — especially for new arrivals who aren't fluent in Arabic, don't know which platform to use, or can't find a clear English-language explanation of the process. Official websites are often technical, incomplete in English, or assume prior knowledge that most residents simply don't have.
Saudi-Steps fills that gap. Every guide is written to explain a real, practical task — from start to finish — including what you need beforehand, the exact steps to follow, common mistakes to avoid, and where to go officially to complete it.
How we research and write guides
Our guides are based on direct experience living and working in Saudi Arabia, combined with research into official government portals, published regulations, and updates from MHRSD, MOI (Absher), Muroor, ZATCA, SAMA, and other Saudi authorities. We cross-reference official sources and include links to the relevant government portal for every guide.
We cover more than 120 guides across 14 categories including residency, driving, healthcare, banking, business setup, motor insurance, and lifestyle. Each guide includes a quick-reference section, step-by-step process, tips, common mistakes, and frequently asked questions.

Keeping content up to date
Saudi government processes change frequently — new apps replace old ones, fees are updated, and regulations evolve under Vision 2030. We review and update guides regularly, and every guide displays a "Last Updated" date so you know how recent the information is.
If you notice that a process has changed or a guide needs updating, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
What we are not
Saudi-Steps is not affiliated with any Saudi government body, ministry, or official entity. We do not provide legal advice, immigration advice, or official documentation. Our guides are for informational purposes only. Always verify the current requirements and complete your transactions through official government portals — we link to these at the bottom of every guide.
